Long before the buzz of chainsaws, Boulder Creek’s downtown was a buzz with commerce. The building was built in 1892, and was the home of the local paper, the Mountain Echo. After that it was a grocery store, a shoe store, and finally after the big one (WWII) it became Village Hardware.
Today Boulder Creek Hardware proudly sits at the corner of Forest Street and Central Avenue. Purchased in 2001 by Doug and Ann Marie Conrad, Boulder Creek Hardware strives to serve the San Lorenzo Valley with the best customer service and selection possible.
Doug and Ann Marie brought with them over 20 years of hardware retail experience. Ann Marie has a strong background in commercial plumbing and commercial sales with Orchard Supply Hardware. Doug also had many years at OSH in purchasing, store planning, and merchandising. They met each other at OSH and fell in love. (aww)
Doug and Ann Marie believe in giving back to their community and especially the folks that shop and support them. They both have been active with the San Lorenzo Valley Chamber of Commerce, the local business association, and other organizations throughout the valley. Ann Marie has volunteered for the Fire Auxiliary and Doug has served numerous years as a Volunteer Firefighter.
Boulder Creek Hardware is your destination for Hardware, Paint, Plumbing, Electrical, Garden, Housewares, and they have built a strong reputation as a leader in small engine repair. Boulder Creek Hardware’s Small Engine Repair facility is located downstairs and is open to the public. In 2012, Pet Supplies and Feed are added to the store's register! Exciting times still to come in our quaint "absurdly rural" town and street corner.
So thanks for stopping and visiting Boulder Creek Hardware. We are the Valley’s oldest hardware store, and it’s all yours! Just like our motto “Boulder Creek Hardware, Your Hardware Store!”
